weekend recap

My weekend was busy, dangerous, expensive, fun all at once.
I know what your thinking... and no I'm not being dramatic.
Really my weekend was all of these things.

Saturday:
We went to an all day volleyball tournament. This was busy, fun and dangerous!
The dangerous part, several student who go to the school that hosted the tournament have the Swine Flu..... I told you it was dangerous.

Alas we are all okay (knock on wood) we all probably over dosed on hand sanitizer, and I think used 85% of the school's hand soap.
The fun part to the day was... Our team won the tournament. Yes we are the champions!

Sunday:
Nothing relaxes a person like retail shopping right?
So that's what I did.

I like to think I didn't buy anything to impulsive. That I really needed everything I bought.
Like this for example, I couldn't go on without it.
Seriously could you?
Okay okay, in my defense. I really bought it for the lamp shade, but the base is cool too right?
AND it was on clearance. Stop shaking your head at me!
It's from Pier One (a store that I really have no self control in) BUT it was on clearance, it's okay! This lamp was $50.00 and I got it for $29.98. A steal if you ask me.
Side Note: Now I have to figure out the perfect place for it..... and I don't have a house of my own. Hello challenge of the month. Lets see how much stuff I can stuff in one room. If you knew my Grandmother (love her) you would know I'm pretty darned talented in the cramming of stuff in one room! It's a gift really.
The shoes I bought for $4.95 was a good buy as well. But they have to go back. Not because I don't love them, but because the right shoe is a size 9 and the left is a size 7, unfortunately for me, my feet just don't work like that.
Hope you have a great Monday.
Mine started with snow.... woohoo

I never should have looked.

Oops.

Dear Credit Card,

Please forgive me for I have opened Pandora's box.
(You know I have always wondered what's really inside Pandora's box)

I went to a clothing store. Online. I clicked on the clearance link.
It was all down hill from there. I'm so ashamed. I have no will power.
(It was a heck of a deal though. Jeans for 19.95, it's a sin to pass that up)

I am a sucker for online purchases. It's a disease, a sickness, a weakness. The sales call to me, I dream of them. I, I feel so.... defeated.
(But at least I'll be wearing some totally cute jeans while hanging my head in shame!)

It's not fair, it's just too easy. All you have to do is click here, browse there, notice something cute, find your size and add to your basket.
It's it's it's insane!

Oh, I give up. This is an on going battle. A battle that I will never win.

Want to join me. Head over to http://www.ae.com to take a look for yourself. They are having a great sale on their jeans and sweaters and shirts and .... well just go take a look.

Checking of the List

The past few days have been crazy and cold and cold and crazy.

Have you ever felt tired, no matter how much sleep you get or what you do to relax, you are just tired? That is what I feel like all the time always. No I'm not pregnant either.
Just tired.

But on an exciting note, I forgot to ravish about my purchases when I went home.
That is right I actually spent some money on me and it was fabulous!
I actually bought pants, not just one pair but 4!
I don't have to wear holy blessed pants anymore! I can actually keep the color of my panties a secret again!
I also got a new pair of shoes and some cute shirts.
The great part about all of this frivolous shopping was it was all on sale! And I kept everything under 100.00 or close, but who is really counting?
The important thing, I got to actually mark some more things off my "What I want to buy this year" list.

I do believe retail therapy is the best and it really does make a person feel better. Why? I'm not sure but gosh it feels great!

Do I sound totally looney now or what? What, I live in the flats and sticks I don't get out much. The bright lights of the city hurts my eyes....
It's a blessing we even have running water. Okay so that part is a lie, but could you imagine if it wasn't?

Side note: I'm so ready for calving season to be over.... Please, please, please, please. I want to go back to normal sleeping hours. I want to have control of the TV again while Ryan is at work.
I'd pay the hallmark channel to STOP showing rerun after rerun of "Walker Texas Ranger" ugh.

Right on Schedule

For once I have finished Christmas shopping before Christmas Eve.
(I'm usually the one who is getting last minute gifts at... well the last minute)

But I'm here to report that for once in my life I have finished ALL of my Christmas shopping long before Christmas Eve!

Of course now I'm broke, but that's another story for another time.

So here's to us Non-procrastinators! I do believe I will celebrate with wine tonight. (I hope that is what non-procrastinators do, I'm new to this club and I don't know the rules)

Totally Necessary

I was having Random thoughts the other morning, last night and again this morning re: Christmas shopping.

I've decided to get people things that are only necessary.
Then I decided to go one further and ask for things that are only necessary for myself.
I want to de-clutter my life, and my house. Who really needs all those things that just are, they really don't have a purpose do they?

Well I started thinking what to buy people, what they really needed and what was really necessary to them.
Does my Sister REALLY need another pair of shoes?
Does my Dad REALLY care if he gets more socks?
Does my Mom REALLY need this or that?

Then I started thinking about myself... (Yeah it happens occasionally)
What do I need that is totally necessary. I tried, I mean I really tried to think of only necessary things and here is what my logic is:
Well, it's TOTALLY NECESSARY for me to have that new camera. I might DIE without it.
Then I also realized, it's TOTALLY NECESSARY for me to get a new coaching bag. I might PERISH without it.
BUT, what about that north face vest, and shoes? I might FREEZE and DIE without them.

So, as you can see. I can't really split the difference from what is necessary and what I just want.
So why should I expect those around me to do the same thing? It's not fair of me to do that and really I'm a very fair and understanding person. Everyone wants what they think is TOTALLY NECESSARY for themselves and where they are in life..... well kinda.

Oh well, I can always try to convince myself again next year.
