-23

That is the temperature here today.
That is NOT adding wind chill.
Oh I can not wait for the day when I own a beach house...

Do over??

Can I get a do over?
I would like a do over for spring?

I understand rain is a must for spring, however snow.... not so much.

I'm sick and tired of snow.
Send it back, we don't need it anymore.

Thanks in advance.

Snow falls and then it melts

Today's Weather

Did I mention it was snowing?

No? Oh well it's snowing.
Correction. It's a blizzard outside.

Our weather forecast is as follows:
Tuesday- it's going to snow all day
Wednesday- it's going to snow all day
Thursday- it's not going to snow, but it will be cloudy
Friday- it's going to snow all day

It's a good thing my Mom got me a windshield brush/scraper thing.
Looks like it's going to come in handy.

The upside to all of this weather.
The only time I will ever think of this weather as an upside.
Is of course due to Hunting Season.

Rainy Days

Sunday I went to go ride my horse. But unfortunately the weather had other plans.
By the time I got there it was pouring rain outside.
So I spent my Sunday evening in my truck watching the rain.
I have to say however, this is better then being home.

May Showers in July

Yesterday once again around 4:15 the skies opened up and poured more rain on us.

It's great I haven't had to water my flower's for days.
They are very well hydrated at the moment.
From outer space I'm sure our yard looks like a bright green beacon.

I use the extra time to whip up something really special for dinner. Like Hamburger Helper. Okay I'm kidding. (Okay I'm not kidding, I really used the extra time to catch up on my DVR)

The weather is calling for more rain today.
At this point, I'm ready for some sunshine.

But you know what all this rain means?
Well you know what they say?

"May showers bring May flowers."

But only in July of course.

Snow Crazy

It has been snowing since yesterday non.stop.
They are predicting we are getting 5 inches every.hour. EVERY.HOUR.
Can I run away from home? Am I too old for that?
Can I take a permanent paid vacation? Does such a thing exist?

The Snow is supposed to subside by Friday, maybe even late Thursday.
This is so depressing.

Last night Ryan made dinner, I was so happy. Even if it was something that I wouldn't make myself, I appreciate the gesture, even if it wasn't really for me. So in the end I made myself a breakfast burrito, it was nice to cook for one. Even if it's only for the night.

Last night our cat killed another mouse. Well kinda. He doesn't eat them or bite them. He just plays with them, until he gets bored. He then leaves me to do the dirty work...
I hate mice, they are so icky and carry so many germs. Yuck.
I also hate spiders, they are so gross and creepy.
I also really hate snakes. I never used to mind them until I moved here. Rattle Snake Central that is. My only good thoughts on the snow is it will hopefully kill the dastardly snakes.
For all you snake lovers out there I'm sorry but every Rattle Snake I see, I kill. Because if I don't kill it, it may kill me. So I do what my instinct tells me, I run them over.

I wonder what the Month of May will bring? You know what it's supposed to do "May showers bring May flowers."
In our case it could be "May snow storms bring May depression?"

Let's talk about food, to be more specific deserts. The Oooey Gooey Smore Bars I made are better the second day then straight out of the oven. I tested my theory last night!
The marshmallows on top are even more gooey and sticky, it's awesome.

Tomorrow is payday, that is always something I look forward too. That means I can put gas in my vehicle! Yay, I just love putting gas in my vehicle, it's like my favorite to watch my money go down the tank...
Yet another reason for me to look into working from home. Or at least closer to home, or at least a considerable raise and monthly bonus.

I'm so thirsty, I'm tempted to go outside and gather a pile of snow, just so I can melt it and drink it.

On May 11, 2009 the United States Postal Service rates will be going up. AGAIN. Gosh the post office sure is greedy these days. Sheesh, I remember the days when it was like .37 cents to send something.

My phone is ringing, I hate when that happens.
Goodbye forever, or until tomorrow, or until I get bored at work again, or until I get off the phone.

Power Outages?

This morning on the radio they said
"We are on a winter storm watch, until Thursday afternoon. We are expected anywhere from 8 to 15 inches and 4 feet in the mountains."
"This storm will be hard on livestock, roads, travel and may even cause several power outages."
I guess this means all the track meets scheduled this week are cancelled?
It's kinda hard to triple jump in 15 inches of snow I suppose.

So? Do I have anything to look forward to for the rest of the week? Doesn't sound like it....
I hope we have enough food stocked up in our pantry if we get snowed in.
If not, I will rest easy knowing I have plenty of Ramen Noodles. I will be okay, but I wonder what my husband will eat? Um, coffee??
I'll tell him he could detox with a liquid diet. Because it's like so cool right now and all the stars are doing it. (If only he'd believe me.)

For dinner tonight, I thought about being creative. What do I have in my fridge? Hmmm
Ricotta Cheese (Love that stuff), frozen spinach, artichoke hearts, eggs, biscuits, milk, ramen noodles....
this could be interesting. Not sure what I might throw together, if it's good I'll write the recipe down. If it's horrible, I always have mac and cheese to fall back on, that and cereal. (oh and brownies)

So do you have snow? If your answer is no.... why don't you go to the north pole, then you will know my pain that or send me a plane ticket, get me outta here!

I should have called in Sick.

This morning started out pretty good.
And by pretty good I mean it wasn't all that great.

Ryan woke me up at 5:20 AM. (enough said)
Then proceeded to try to keep me up.... (could have killed him)
Then acted mad when I didn't wake up and instead told him to stick it where the sun doesn't shine, I said it in a different way using different words however. (When I'm tired or sleeping I really really really don't sugar coat things)

Other then that, my morning was okay. I got out of the house early (headed to the Chiropractor) the weather seemed pretty decent. Not hot, not a blizzard out there either.

I go to town, make a couple stops, go to my appointment and head out of town.

I get to work, and here's where it all goes downhill.

The sky opens up and begins pouring (Yes pouring) out hail, then it switches to snow and the flakes just keep getting bigger. and bigger.

Then I get a call from the boss man to cancel a truck I have scheduled and to re-schedule for next week. But to keep the other truck I have scheduled on and to get a cheaper price.... right.
First thing I do, cancel the correct trucks and orders and begin talking prices with trucking companies. The trucking company isn't happy to be canceled on such short notice.

Then I get a call from the boss man and he says to reschedule the trucking company that I. JUST. CANCELLED. Um, what?? NO. (have you ever just wanted to tell the boss man "NO") That urge happens almost daily. (I'm working on it)

So I then continue on making calls that make this business and me seem like a big huge hairy butt. And really who wants to play with one of those?

Now, my stomach hurts. From what? The stress, yeah maybe? The donut I had earlier, ugh it's a long shot.
WAIT, nope I know what it's from. The bus stopped at McDonald's. AGAIN. After this basketball season I'm going to have to Detox.
But I can't lie, I love me some hot fudge sundays!
And the girls won both games again. Still undefeated!

Oh.... wait. Please hold. The phone is ringing and it's the BOSS MAN. (I'm not even joking. I wish I was.)

Maybe my stomach hurts from a stress ulcer caused from a stressful work environment? Fits no?

Tis the season

You know cold season...

Anymore though, it seems like this season is always around.

While coaching the Middle School Girls Basketball I have to spend time with them and be around them. I don't have a problem with this at all. I like coaching them, it's the fun part of my day.

The not so fun part. Schools/ kids are germ carriers.
I have yet to walk into the Gym two times in a row and come out cold free.

For the past few days I have been suffering through on of the many cold's I will catch this basketball season.
Taking airborne religiously, trying to get sleep, trying to eat well.
Taking Tylenol PM every night.
Although, I don't fall asleep as soon as I'd like, but eh I'll take what I can get.

You know it's bad when you walk in the gym and the girls and other coach who are across the gym say.... or rather yell "Wow, you look like you don't feel good."

Yeah, I know. I'm not a glamours person when I'm sick.
I'm still working on that.

On another note, the weather has reached above the negatives! What a heat wave....
I could almost leave the house without my long johns. I'm so sick of the cold weather.

Summer are you there? Summer please come back I miss you! I NEED you! Summer? SUMMER????

Spring? Are you there? I've missed you

Well today had potential to be a good day.
I woke up, kinda well rested. But not really
(I won't go into detail about what I witnessed last night in my living room I will tell you it involved a cat and a mouse. It was loud, it was scary and it woke me from my humble slumber) I'm afraid I won't ever be the same.

But I had time to make a lunch to take with me. (Okay so I just grabbed a couple slices of cold pizza and a water bottle) But you have to start somewhere right?

I drive to work, and notice wow it's kinda nice outside (besides the wind, but that's an everyday thing) I'm working away and notice the time.
"Hey it's time to eat lunch!"
And that's when things begin to slowly go down hill.
First off the wind picked up, we had small trees flying across the pasture.
Then it began to snow.
Then the temperature dropped.
That's right that wicked winter isn't over yet.

For the love of Pete, I would like to have one nice Easter in the state of Montana.
No wind.
No cold.
No snow.
I've always pictured being able to wear my spring pastel's and sit outside while enjoying my easter basket.

So to make myself feel better, I've printed off several different recipes that I'm going to try.
One being a 14 layer cake. Yep I said 14 alright.

And tonight I want to make chocolate chip muffins. So I can eat them in the mornings with my coffee.

Because really what gives better comfort then chocolate?

In sports related news:

Middle school girls basketball is going good. Those girls crack me up. We have our first games next weekend.

State tournament is currently taking place.
Belt played Big Sandy today. (I hope Belt won)
The winner of that game is scheduled to play Twin Bridges tonight.
It's single elimination.
Currently I'm rooting for the home team.
Which technically is both teams.
Here's hoping to a good game.
Go Belt!
Go Twin Bridges!

Edited to add:
I was told the tournament was a single elimination. Thankfully it isn't, it's a double elimination tournament.

So over it.

Dear Weather,

You are crappy again, what gives? I'm so over this cold weather, I'm so over the fog and frost. I'm so ready for spring. I'm so ready to frolic outside with out layers upon layers of clothes. Crappy weather please go away and don't come back until next winter season.

Thank you kindly,

Teenie

Hail, Hail go away

The weather is so weird today. It was blue skies, then hail, then wind, then blue skies, then more wind, and finally bring on the hail once again.

Today is the perfect day to be on the couch, drinking hot chocolate, eating ice cream and watching movies. Or HGTV, I seriously love that channel. Gives me such inspiration. To bad inspiration isn't enough to get off the couch...

Instead, I'm here at work listening to the hail hit my truck. (Yessss, I love when it hail's on my truck.) As you can imagine, each individual piece of hard snow/ice I see/ hear hit my truck deepens my mood.
Although, I will go home (after practice) jump in the shower and use ALL the hot water. And I mean ALL of it. Grab a bowl of ice cream, cereal, or maybe even Cream of Wheat?? HMMM
Then I will plunk my butt on the couch and not move until I go to bed. (Oh, wait. This is happening after I feed the chickens. I wish they would feed themselves)

I'm not making ANY dinner unless you would like cream of wheat. I'm not doing ANY night calving. And the laundry can kiss off.
Tonight it's all about me the food and the tv.

Of course, what are the chances of my evening really going like this?
My luck the dog will run away.
Or the power will go out. (I might go up in flames if this happens)

Sidenote:
First day of basketball practice was a success. No one died or cried.
I even had a little boy run up to me and say "Do you know So and So?"
I looked at him like he was nuts and replied "Who? Um no..."
Little boy then replied "Well, he likes you. He like LOVES you."

The basketball girls started laughing and I stood there dumbfounded.
I still don't know what I would say to that little boy if he confronted me again.
Do you think a boy who wants to get attention by walking through the gym as if one of his legs is broken and is yelling "Oh, mah broken legggg. OHHHH, OHHH" Is a good match for me? Are we compatible?
Yeah I didn't think so either.

Feels like spring time

Have you ever heard about the wacky weather we get in Montana?
(If you live in Montana, then you KNOW what I'ma talkin about)

Today in Montana on this day of January 19th, 2009 it is:

60 degrees
The sun is shinning
And the sky is blue

Ahhh, it makes me want to be outside, it makes me want to eat ice cream, it makes me want to work out, then eat more ice cream!

You know what though, on Thursday they are calling for Snow.
So I'm going to enjoy this spring like weather we have for the next couple days. Cause then it will be gone, gone for another 3 months.

I'm telling you it's crazy weather here. Don't believe me?
I'll have to find the picture I took in June.

There is 8 inches of snow on the ground.
